Ford Asserts “Hurricane” Leadership

As part of Ford’s restructuring plan, Ford Motors will revive the 6.2 –liter V8 engine that has grabbed the limelight of fame for the company. The hurricane as what this engine is commonly called is meant to make the competition even stiffer for the SRT8 6.1-liter Vortec engine from Chrysler that can give off an impressive 425 horsepower and 420 pound feet of torque as well as the 6.2-liter Vortec engine that can boost 403 horsepower for the power drive system and auto parts of the 2007 GM Cadillac Escalade.

Ford crafted the hurricane for the Ford F-150 pickup as response to the Hemi engine used by the Chrysler 300C SRT8 sedan and Dodge Magnum SRT8 wagon but production was stopped due to high development cost. This time, Ford is again ready to assert their leadership in the truck market segment against the growing dominion of General Motors Corp and DaimlerChrysler. Ford has other big engines in their line-up but it is not properly equipped to combat the Hemi so the company decided to revive the hurricane although we still do not know if the name will be changed or retained. Ford also expects that the engine will help to restore the share that they’ve lost in the market. You can also check out that engine at Ford Parts Online although you may still have to wait for the next two years since it will be introduced together with the F-Series pickup.

2009 Ford Mustang Concept

Take a peek at the 2009 Ford Mustang which is said to be under testing in the Arizona desert. From the looks of it, it will surely create a lot of buzz among Ford Mustang lovers and enthusiasts like me. Here’s an overview of what’s hot and new for the latest Ford Mustang.

There are several enhancements and in particular, changes were made so that the new Mustang will be able to compete with the Challenger and Camaro -- also bound to be produced in the same year. As compared with previous models, the 2009 version of the Mustang is much more aggressive and sporty in style.  Its design is accentuated by bold lines starting from the front area down to the body and the rear sides and corners, well crafted front and rear flanks, and a smaller glass area. The iconic retro style and look is now fused with modern projector beam headlights and redesigned front fascia.

Under the hood is the new 3-valve 4.6L V8 backed up by Ford’s Displacement on Demand Technology (DOD) to allow shutting off of the engine’s cylinder for improved fuel and gas mileage economy. This feature can also boost as much as 325-340hp.

I can’t wait to see the 2009 Ford Mustang in our streets and highways, but meanwhile I have to browse the net for new replacements parts for my Ford Focus at Ford Parts Online. You can also go there in case you are in need of new components for your Ford’s bumper, catalytic converter, fender, floor mats, hood, hubcaps, lights and many others.
