Handy Auto Lights Replacement Tips and Steps

The lighting components of your Ford may not seem to be the most important component but mind you, driving without or with defective lights is like journeying towards death especially if you have to go through low driving conditions. Good thing your Ford is equipped with long lasting tough headlights, taillights, corner lights, fog lights and other essential lighting components to go with the call of daily driving especially at night.

Shattered, cracked or burned lights must be replaced at once. The net has the long array of sources that can give you the specific type of lights needed by your car. The first thing to be done is to remove the thin metal or plastic band that secures the component in place to have access to the screws and retaining ring.
Remove the screws that hold the metal band with the correct tool but make sure that you can determine which of the screw is used for vertical and horizontal adjustment of the component.
Upon removal, the rubber covering is then pulled back to unplug the headlamp.
You are now ready to set in place the new headlamp replacement. Just follow the reverse steps of the procedures mentioned above but make sure that the screws are properly tightened to avoid any untoward accident.

Ford is Still America's Car Company

The Ford Motor Company has once again proved to the nation and the globe over that it still is America's car company, at the 2006 North American Auto Show. The company has brought along with it an impressive display of bold new products and provocative concept vehicles.

According to Bill Ford, Ford Motor Company's chairman and CEO, the innovation that people have witnessed and experienced is all part of the company's natural heritage, even dating back to the Model T. "We're driving to build products that are innovative in design, safety, technology, and the environment. Innovation is formed right here in America. Innovation that is truly American."

During the auto show, the company has unveiled its newest vehicle, which is the Edge crossover, which they have described as "bold, innovative, American, and unmistakably a Ford." Along with that, the 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500 was revealed, which is the company's newest and fastest Mustang ever. Two concept vehicles were also named, which are the F-250 Super Chief truck, and the Reflex, which is a small, fuel-efficient car. J Mays, Ford's chief creative officer and group vice president for design has stated that the company, through American innovation, has the capacity to create vehicles that can capture a part of the currently untapped market.

It is amazing to know that Ford is still working its way through various stages of revolutionizing and upgrading their vehicles even if it already has marked a spot among the world's top manufacturers of automobiles. 1956 Ford T-bird Up for Grabs at the Barrett-Jackson Event

If not for the Thunderbird, the 172 Cessna could not have stayed in the air for sixty-four days. Hughes Tool Co. bought the Alamo airways, including the T-bird.

Ford Takes Safety to a New Level

Ford is serious about winning back avid Ford users and buyers’ interest in Ford cars after several recalls and reported financial losses of the company. This time, Ford is directing their efforts towards improving Ford vehicles’ safety. Last week, Ford introduced their new Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) that features “smart” Ford headlights and other Ford front lights. This innovative system from Ford is designed to enhance safety of Ford vehicles more than anything their style and function.

The new lighting system improves active safety, helping drivers avoid accidents by allowing them to see around the corners at night, even in zero visibility conditions. Ford uses a unique optics package for more intense and clearer illumination, especially around curves in the road. AFS features cornering or swivel systems that allow the light to turn as a single unit with the car as it approaches a curve. It provides clearer view of the road as it lights the area where the beam is pointed.

This advanced lighting technology shall be featured in three Ford concept cars to be unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. One of the concept cars also features solar-powered Ford headlights and Ford taillights, which do not only provide efficient illumination to the road but helps cut energy consumption of the vehicle. The said lights capture light during the day and use the light to power the lights at night or when the dark sets in.

Another Ford concept car shall feature the latest Ford LED lights, which are not only highly efficient but are carefully designed as well to give Ford autos a sophisticated urban look. The head-intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) in the new Ford headlights are only secondary to the high-output halogen projector that emits the main beam of light. The LED illuminates instantaneously and distributes the light evenly.

Furthermore, Ford is extending its seatbelt technology into the second row of passenger cars, providing backseat passengers more safety in the event of collision. The seatbelts are inflatable so injuries can be lessened just when accidents happen. Like the advanced AFS, the inflatable seatbelts are to be featured in Ford’s concept cars to be launched in the NAIAS.
